Some one told me that you can check to see if a horse has AHS but looking under the tongue, and if you find white marks/blisters under the tongue then they do have AHS. Is this correct?

Not enough research has been done in this field however it is assumed that the virus will move from infected horse to un-infected horses during an outbreak and not all horses will show clinical signs. What we are trying to understand is the over winter of the virus. The virus has not been found to survive in ticks.
